LISA DRAPER, OD, FAAO
Dr. Draper received her Doctorate of Optometry from The Ohio State University where she had also earned her undergraduate degree in Radiologic Sciences. In optometry school she was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honors fraternity and was awarded Clinical Excellence in Binocular Vision and Pediatrics. Her extern experiences include primary care and ocular disease at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center and MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, OH.
After optometry school, Dr. Draper completed a residency in Pediatrics at the University of Houston College of Optometry focusing on eye diseases and vision in kids, as well as binocular vision and neuro-optometry. While in Houston, Dr. Draper had the privilege of working alongside ophthalmologists to co-manage children’s eye diseases that required surgical intervention. She also worked with a large population of special needs children and adults.
Dr. Draper’s interests include amblyopia, strabismus, and eye teaming problems for children as well as caring for patient’s visual needs at any age. In 2015, she earned her Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry, distinguishing herself among members of the optometric profession dedicated to superior clinical practice, research, and advancements in the field. She is a member of the Delaware Optometric Association and American Optometric Association for which she is an Infantsee provider. Since joining the Simon Eye team in the summer of 2015, she has implemented a vision therapy program to continue to care for vision difficulties not solved by glasses alone.
A native New Yorker, she now lives in Hockessin, DE with her husband and puppy where they cheer loudly for Buckeye Football.
