Dr. Sagun Pendse, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Pendse provides comprehensive eye care including the medical management of Glaucoma. He specializes in cataract surgery utilizing the most advanced technology including the newest intraocular lens implants that correct astigmatism (AcrySof Toric), and correct both distance and near vision (Crystalens, ReStor, and Tecnis Multifocal). Dr. Pendse also offers Laser Refractive Surgery and Functional Eyelid Surgery.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. As a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine, he was selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital where he served as Co-Chief Resident during his final year. After his residency, he was in private practice for three years in Wilmington, Delaware and an additional two years in Philadelphia. He is an experienced surgeon who teaches Cataract Surgery to Resident Physicians training at the Wills Eye Institute.
Dr. Pendse is Board Certified and on staff at Aria Health, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and the Wills Eye Institute. He is actively involved in the education of the Ophthalmology Residents at Wills Eye Institute as a member of the Cataract and Primary Eye Care Service. He also covers Trauma Call at the Wills Eye Emergency Room and performs many emergency eye surgeries there.
Dr. Beeran B. Meghpara, M.D.
Dr. Meghpara is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in cornea, cataract, and laser refractive surgery. He has extensive experience with advanced technology intraocular lens implants that correct astigmatism and presbyopia. He performs all forms of corneal transplantation, including partial thickness DSAEK and DALK. He also specializes in bladeless customized LASIK and phakic intraocular lens surgery. As an anterior segment specialist, Dr. Meghpara also treats corneal infections, ocular surface diseases such as dry eye, and glaucoma.
After earning his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Dr. Meghpara went on to graduate from the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine, where he was selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at the Cullen Eye Institute, Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. After residency, Dr. Meghpara completed a fellowship in cornea, refractive surgery, and external disease at the University of Colorado.
Dr. Meghpara is Board Certified and on staff and the Wills Eye Institute and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He is involved in the education of Ophthalmology residents at the Wills Eye Institute as a member of the Cornea service. He also covers trauma call at the Wills Eye Hospital emergency room and performs emergency surgeries there.
Dr. Blair K. Armstrong, M.D.
Blair K. Armstrong, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in oculoplastic, orbital, and
reconstructive surgery. She treats a wide variety of eyelid orbital and lacrimal conditions, as well as, thyroid disease. She has a special interest in eyelid reconstruction, cosmetic, surgical and nonsurgical treatments of the face and peri-ocular region.
Dr. Armstrong grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs and earned her Bachelor of Science cum laude from Boston College. She returned to Philadelphia to attend Jefferson Medical College where she was inducted to the Pathology, Alpha Omega Alpha, and Hobart Amory Hare Honor Medical Societies. She was awarded the Beach Scholarship for service, compassion, and scholarship, received the Jefferson Medical College Ophthalmology Award, and graduated cum laude.
Dr. Armstrong pursued her internship at Albert Einstein Medical Center and completed her
ophthalmology training at Wills Eye Hospital. As a Wills Eye Hospital resident, Dr. Armstrong was nominated for the Jefferson Faculty Association Resident Award, as well as, the Philadelphia County Medical Society Award for Humaneness in Medicine. Dr. Armstrong then completed a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology, oculoplastics, orbital, and reconstructive surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Following fellowship, Dr. Armstrong became the Director of Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive, and Orbital Surgery at Boston University and an Assistant Professor at Boston University School of Medicine.
Dr. Neil Vadhar, M.D.
Dr. Vadhar is a Delaware native born and raised in New Castle County. As a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist in cornea, cataract, and laser refractive surgery, he is experienced in all types of corneal transplantation including partial thickness DMEK.
He also specializes in cataract surgery utilizing the most advanced technology including astigmatism and presbyopia-correcting intraocular lenses. Additionally, as an anterior segment specialist, he treats glaucoma, corneal infections, and ocular surface diseases such as dry eye.
Dr. Vadhar attended the University of Delaware where he was in the honors program, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He subsequently graduated from Jefferson Medical College and completed his ophthalmology residency at Rutgers University. After residency, Dr. Vadhar completed a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at the world-renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
