Dr. Micaela Small earned her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in Chicago and her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. She is a member of Beta Sigma Kappa honors fraternity and also served as the president of Gold Key honors society while in school. Upon graduation, Dr. Small completed her dual residency training in ocular disease and low vision at the West Haven VA Hospital in Connecticut.
Dr. Small’s clinical training at the Philadelphia VA hospital focused on treatment and management of ocular diseases including glaucoma and macular degeneration. She also completed a rotation at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia specializing in low vision. Additionally, she had the opportunity to travel to Haiti on an optometric mission trip to provide eye care to the underserved population.
A native of Chicago, Dr. Small currently resides in Chadds Ford, PA. She enjoys running, scrapbooking, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
