Paula Fernandez, OD

Paula Fernandez, OD, grew up in Miami, FL. As a child, she had poor eyesight and needed vision correction, which led to her interest in learning the eyes’ pathology. Dr. Fernandez is a graduate of her home state’s Nova Southeastern University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in vision science, as well as her Doctor of Optometry. She served internships at the Eye Institute of Nova Southeastern University and the Eye Centers of South Florida, and worked with a retina specialist in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Fernandez joined us in December of 2003, and is dedicated to providing excellent eye care to her patients. Her English-Spanish bilingual fluency enables Simon Eye Associates to better serve the eye health and vision care needs of the area’s underserved Hispanic population.

She lives in Middletown, DE, with her husband, Dr. Kevin Brown, who is also an optometrist with Simon Eye.
