Treatment of Eye Diseases
The doctors at Simon Eye Associates are highly trained in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. The most common eye disease seen is a form of eye infection commonly called “pink eye”. Pink eye is actually a viral infection of the eye and only one of several reasons for a red eye. Others include allergy, bacterial infection, fungal infection, chemical reaction, or foreign bodies. All the doctors are trained in determining the exact kind of condition so it can then be treated with the correct medicine or therapy.
Other forms of eye disease that are commonly treated by our doctors include glaucoma, dry eye, cataracts (which are not actually a disease but more of an aging condition), trauma, and many more. The only thing that is not performed is surgery, which is only necessary in a very few individuals. When patients require surgery they are referred to one of the many qualified surgeons in the area.
